Tokina 127mm Pro IRND 0.6
Tokina 127mm Pro IRND 0.6 | Two stops of light control
Tokina 127mm Pro IRND 0.6 is a 127mm neutral-density filter with a 0.6 rating, for image makers who need to reduce the light reaching the camera. Its purpose is straightforward: give you more room to choose a slower shutter speed or a wider aperture without changing the light in the scene. A 0.6 density corresponds to roughly two stops, so you can plan the exposure change rather than guess at it. That makes it useful for creating motion blur in a bright setting, or for keeping a chosen aperture when the available light would otherwise call for a faster shutter speed. It suits photographers and filmmakers whose filter setup takes a 127mm filter and who want a defined, moderate reduction in light. The IRND designation is part of this model’s name; the details here don’t establish its spectral behaviour, so I wouldn’t make claims about colour response. Think of this as a specific two-stop exposure tool, not a heavy ND filter for dramatic reductions.
Specialist Note
With this 0.6 rating, you can plan for about two stops less light and make the exposure adjustment deliberately. For a longer exposure, slow the shutter by two stops at the same ISO; for more background blur, open the aperture by two stops instead. The 127mm format is the other detail to keep in mind: it matters when this is going into your existing filter setup, so it’s worth matching that size before planning a shot. I’d point this toward someone who wants a moderate reduction for motion blur or aperture control, rather than someone aiming for very long daylight exposures. Its strength is the measured change; on its own, two stops may not be enough for a dramatic long exposure in bright conditions.
