TTArtisan AF 17mm f/1.8 - APS-C - Nikon Z-Mount - Black
TTArtisan AF 17mm f/1.8 - APS-C - Nikon Z-Mount - Black | Wide, bright framing for Nikon Z APS-C
The 17mm focal length is the defining choice: it gives Nikon Z APS-C photographers a broad view for scenes where stepping back isn’t practical. TTArtisan has made this an autofocus interchangeable prime, so it can stay on the camera for deliberate compositions without requiring manual focusing for every frame. It suits landscape work, architectural details and night skies, especially when you want more of the setting in the picture rather than isolating a small subject. The f/1.8 maximum aperture gives you room to work as the light drops, and makes this a sensible lens to consider for star fields. On APS-C, that wide view still feels natural for everyday scenes. The black finish keeps the look understated.
Specialist Note
Framing settles quickly with this focal length: you can take in a building façade or a stretch of foreground without backing into the street. On a Nikon DX body, 17mm gives a field of view comparable to 25.5mm on full frame, broad but still manageable for keeping vertical lines under control—keep the camera level, then move back where space allows. The f/1.8 maximum aperture is useful after dusk; for a first star-field attempt, try f/1.8, 10 seconds and ISO 3200, then adjust for your sky. It suits landscape and architecture photographers who want to include the surroundings. Just remember, this view won’t bring distant details closer; it’s about fitting more of the scene in.
