Bright outdoor light can bring ultraviolet light into your photos, and the Urth 49mm UV Lens Filter (Plus+) is made to reduce it. Its 49mm size is the key fit detail for a lens with a matching filter thread. For landscape photography in daylight, the UV reduction is intended to give clearer, sharper-looking images; the filter also sits in front of the lens as a barrier against scratches, oil, dirt and water. That extra layer is useful when your camera is out and about, where the front element is exposed to dust and splashes. The Plus+ version uses German SCHOTT glass and 30 layers of nano-coating, with the coating supporting light transmission, colour and image depth. A double-threaded design means you can stack another filter rather than removing this one. Urth also plants five trees for each product purchased.
