Urth 52mm ND64 (6 Stop) Lens Filter Pro
Urth 52mm ND64 (6 Stop) Lens Filter Pro | Longer exposures in bright light
Longer exposures in daylight can turn moving water into a softer, flowing blur while keeping the rest of the scene still. The Urth 52mm ND64 (6 Stop) Lens Filter Pro reduces the light reaching your lens by six stops, giving you more room to use a slower shutter speed in bright conditions. It suits landscape photographers and anyone who wants to show movement in a scene without waiting for low light. For example, a shutter speed around 1/60 second can become roughly one second with the filter in place, depending on the light and your camera settings. That can give a stream or fountain a smoother look. It can also help you use a wider aperture outdoors when you want a shallower depth of field. The 52mm size is for lenses with a matching filter thread, so it’s a compact, purpose-specific way to control exposure.
Specialist Note
Bright sun can make a slow shutter speed difficult to use, even when you want movement in the frame. This filter’s six-stop reduction gives you a practical amount of extra exposure time: as a starting point, try moving from 1/60 second to about one second for flowing water, then adjust for the scene. The 52mm size keeps the choice straightforward if your lens has a 52mm filter thread. I’d suggest pairing a one-second exposure with a steady camera; the filter can record the water’s movement, but it can’t prevent camera shake. It suits photographers who want that softer motion in daylight, though the result still depends on the light and subject.
