Urth 72 82mm Magnetic Step Up Ring Lens Filter Adapter
Urth 72 82mm Magnetic Step Up Ring Lens Filter Adapter | Step up to a magnetic filter setup
Without a step-up ring, using a larger filter size on a lens means finding another way to join the two. This Urth adapter bridges a 72mm lens filter thread to an 82mm filter size, giving you a route to use that larger format. Its magnetic design makes it relevant if your filter setup uses magnetic filters, rather than relying on a conventional screw-on filter connection at the adapter. It suits photographers who want to build around a larger filter size instead of keeping separate filters for every lens thread. The clearest use is adapting a lens with a 72mm front thread to an 82mm filter system. It’s a specific piece of kit, so its value depends on those sizes matching your lens and filter setup; it isn’t a general-purpose adapter for other thread combinations.
Specialist Note
For a lens with a 72mm filter thread, I’d use this when I want to work with an 82mm magnetic filter setup. The step-up sizing gives you that connection, so you can plan around the larger filter format instead of buying the same filter size for each lens. Its magnetic design is the other practical point: it’s intended for a magnetic-filter arrangement, so make sure that’s the kind of setup you want to use. This suits someone building a small, consistent filter kit around the larger size. The trade-off is that it only solves this particular size pairing; it won’t adapt a lens with a different thread size.
