Urth 77mm Ethereal White Mist Filter Plus+
Urth 77mm Ethereal White Mist Filter Plus+ | A softer, mist-like image
Highlights take on a softer, mist-like character, giving your pictures a gentler look straight from the camera. The Urth 77mm Ethereal White Mist Filter Plus+ is a photographic filter for photographers who want that look in portraits, atmospheric scenes or images with bright lights in the frame. Its White Mist name points to a deliberately softened rendering rather than a neutral protective effect, so it’s best suited to a creative choice of mood, not to every scene. Use it when you want bright areas to feel less crisp and the overall image to read as softer. The 77mm designation helps you identify the size you need when choosing a filter for your lens. If you enjoy shaping the character of an image while shooting, this gives you a straightforward way to bring a mist-like quality into your photographs.
Specialist Note
First-time mist-filter buyers often expect a subtle correction that leaves the picture otherwise unchanged; this one is for choosing a softer look on purpose. The White Mist character makes most sense when there are highlights to give that treatment to, so try it for a portrait near a bright window or a night scene with lights in the frame. Keep the light source visible in the composition if you want the softened quality to be apparent. The 77mm marking is the practical detail to check against your lens’s filter thread before choosing it. I’d reach for this when mood matters more than maximum crispness; that softer rendering won’t suit every subject.
