Urth 82mm Magnetic Ethereal Black Mist Filter Plus+
Urth 82mm Magnetic Ethereal Black Mist Filter Plus+ | Softer highlights with a misty finish
Bright highlights can feel harsh in a portrait or night scene, while editing them later may not give you the look you wanted in camera. The Urth 82mm Magnetic Ethereal Black Mist Filter Plus+ is made to give images a softer, hazier character, taking the edge off bright points of light and adding a gentle mist effect. It suits photographers who want that atmospheric look while shooting, especially for portraits, evening scenes and video with visible lights in frame. The 82mm size identifies the filter diameter, so it’s intended for lenses that accept 82mm filters. Its magnetic design gives you a way to attach and remove the filter without using a conventional screw-on fitting. The effect is part of the image you capture, so it’s best when you want the softened look from the outset rather than deciding later.
Specialist Note
For an evening portrait with a bright lamp behind your subject, I’d consider this 82mm filter to soften the light’s appearance and give the frame a more atmospheric finish. The magnetic attachment is handy if you like to change the look between scenes; you can remove the filter when you want a cleaner rendering. It’s a good fit for portrait and video makers who deliberately want visible glow around highlights, rather than crisp, untouched points of light. Do keep that in mind: the mist effect is a creative choice, not something you can dial back with an on-filter control. Match the 82mm size to your lens’s filter thread.
