7Artisans 10mm f/2.8 Canon R-Mount MkII Black | Fit more into the frame

For sweeping landscapes and buildings that are hard to fit into a frame, an ultra-wide view can bring the whole scene together. The 7Artisans 10mm f/2.8 Canon R-Mount MkII Black is an interchangeable ultra-wide prime lens for Canon RF cameras. Its 10mm focal length gives you a broad perspective for landscape and architecture photography, while its f/2.8 maximum aperture makes it a useful option for photographing the night sky, too. This lens suits photographers who want to choose focus themselves and work deliberately with the edges and scale of a scene. Use it to show more of a façade from nearby, or to include a wide stretch of sky above a landscape. Its wide perspective can make close foreground details feel prominent, so pay attention to what enters the edges of your composition.

Specialist Note

Trying to include a whole building or a broad stretch of landscape can leave you stepping back until the view is no longer practical. This 10mm lens gives you a very wide perspective to work with, so get close to the structure or foreground and check the frame edges before you shoot. For night-sky scenes, f/2.8 lets in more light than a smaller maximum aperture; start there, then adjust your exposure to suit the scene. Focus is manual, which rewards a careful setup rather than quick changes between subjects. It suits photographers who enjoy that control. For architecture, watch how close foreground lines appear in the frame, as a wide view can make them feel pronounced.
