ACT USB 2.0 A Male - USB B Male 3.00m

ACT USB 2.0 A Male - USB B Male 3.00m | Connect with extra reach

A cable with the wrong plug at one end can bring a setup to a halt. This ACT USB 2.0 cable has a USB A male connector on one end and a USB B male connector on the other, giving you a direct connection between matching sockets. At 3.00m long, it can also give you more room to route the cable than a short lead. It suits anyone whose equipment has a USB B socket and needs to connect to a USB A socket. The key is the connector match: USB A and USB B are different shapes, so check which socket is on each device before choosing a cable. There’s no guessing from the length or the USB 2.0 label; the plug types are the useful detail here.

Getting the connection right

USB B is the squarer connector, while USB A is the familiar flatter shape. On this cable, both are male plugs, so they’re designed to go into matching female sockets. That makes the cable’s purpose easy to identify: USB A at one end, USB B at the other. The 3.00m length gives you some flexibility in where you place the connected equipment, though the route you need will determine whether that reach is enough. It’s worth considering where the cable will run, rather than measuring only the gap between devices; a route around a desk or along its edge can take more length. Keep the connector shapes in mind when matching the cable to your setup.
