Apple USB-C Digital Av Multiport Adapter

Apple USB-C Digital AV Multiport Adapter: Share your screen over HDMI

Show a Mac, iPad or iPhone screen on an HDMI display, with audio travelling alongside the picture. The Apple USB-C Digital AV Multiport Adapter connects through USB-C and has HDMI, USB and USB-C ports, so you can present slides on a projector, watch video on a television or bring photos up on a larger monitor. It’s an Apple adapter for USB-C-equipped devices, with a standard USB connection and a USB-C connection available while the display is connected. That’s useful at a desk, in a meeting room or when you want to share content with people gathered around a screen. The adapter supports mirrored display output, so the content on your device appears on the connected display. Resolution depends on the device: supported models can output up to 3840 × 2160 at 60 Hz. It’s a compact way to add display and accessory connections through one adapter.

Ports & Display Support

• HDMI video output: Connect to a television, monitor or projector with an HDMI input. The adapter carries both video and audio over HDMI, handy for slides with sound or watching a video on a larger screen.
• Up to 4K at 60 Hz: On compatible models, the adapter supports a resolution of 3840 × 2160 at 60 Hz. Other listed modes include 1080p at 60 Hz and 4K at 30 Hz, with the available output dependent on the device.
• Mirrored screen: Display the same content on your device and an HDMI screen. That gives a presenter a direct way to share slides, images or other on-screen material with a room.
• Standard USB port: Connect a USB accessory such as a flash drive or camera while the adapter is in use. The port also supports a USB cable for synchronisation.
• USB-C charging connection: Attach a USB-C charging cable to the adapter to charge your Mac, iPad or iPhone while using the other connections.

Good to know

You’ll need a separate HDMI cable to connect the adapter to a television, monitor or projector; it isn’t included in the listed box contents. The source lists macOS Mojave 10.14.6 or later and iOS 12.4 or later as system requirements. Those details are worth checking against your device and its software before relying on the adapter for a presentation or display setup.
