Caruba Adapterschroef 1/4m - 1/4F w/ Plastic Grip - Short
Caruba 1/4m - 1/4F Adapter Screw with Plastic Grip – Short | A compact tripod connection
The short form is the defining choice here: it keeps the connection between two 1/4-inch threaded fittings compact, while the plastic grip gives you a surface to turn by hand. This Caruba adapter screw has a 1/4-inch male end and a 1/4-inch female end, so it connects fittings with those corresponding threads without changing their size. It’s a straightforward tripod accessory for photographers who need to join parts of a setup and want a little more purchase when tightening or loosening the connection. The short design is especially practical when you’d rather avoid adding much length to a rig. There’s no adjustment built into the screw; its job is simply to provide this male-to-female connection. If that’s the connection your setup calls for, its clearly defined ends make it easy to see what role it can play.
Specialist Note
Tabletop and product photographers piecing together a compact tripod setup are the people I’d point toward this little adapter. Its 1/4-inch male-to-female arrangement is useful when the two fittings you want to join have opposite thread ends; the size stays the same, so it won’t solve a mismatch in thread size. For a small product shot, place it between those fittings to make the connection without adding much length. The plastic grip gives your fingers something to turn, which is handy when you’re making a small adjustment at the rig rather than reaching for a tool. It’s a simple, specific part—not an adjustable support—so it suits a fixed connection best.
