Caruba Adapterschroef 3/8"M - 1/4"F w/ Rubber Dekplaat
Caruba Adapterschroef 3/8"M - 1/4"F w/ Rubber Dekplaat | Bridge two tripod thread sizes
A thread mismatch can stop a tripod setup before you’ve even mounted your accessory. This Caruba adapter screw gives you a straightforward way to connect a 1/4-inch male thread where the support has a 3/8-inch female socket. Its 3/8-inch male end screws into that socket; the adapter then presents a 1/4-inch female thread for the next fitting. That makes it useful for photographers and videographers piecing together a support setup with these two thread sizes. The rubber cover plate is part of the design, giving the connection a rubber contact surface rather than leaving it entirely metal-to-metal. It’s a small, focused accessory, best suited to solving this specific thread-size mismatch. It won’t change the thread on every part of a setup, so the sizes at the connection points still need to match the adapter’s 3/8-inch male and 1/4-inch female threads.
Specialist Note
“Will this let me fit a 1/4-inch threaded accessory into a 3/8-inch socket?” Yes: screw the adapter’s 3/8-inch male end into the socket, then use its 1/4-inch female opening for a fitting with a 1/4-inch male thread. That makes it handy when a tripod support and an accessory arrive with different thread sizes. The rubber cover plate gives the contact area a softer surface than bare metal, which can be useful when bringing parts together. I’d choose it for that precise mismatch, not as a general-purpose mounting solution; it only bridges these two thread sizes.
