Caruba LP-E17 (DR-E18) Dummy Battery +AC-E6 Power Adapter

Caruba LP-E17 (DR-E18) Dummy Battery +AC-E6 Power Adapter | Power your setup from an adapter

Instead of relying on a charged battery and swapping it when it runs down, this Caruba set uses an LP-E17 (DR-E18) dummy battery with an AC-E6 power adapter. It’s intended for powering a camera setup through the adapter rather than from a standalone LP-E17 battery. That makes it a practical option when the camera is staying in one place and you’d rather not plan your work around battery changes. The product name gives you the key references: LP-E17, DR-E18 and AC-E6. Use those identifiers when comparing this adapter with the power arrangement you have in mind. It’s a specialist accessory for a particular battery designation, rather than a general-purpose charger. For a fixed camera position, the appeal is straightforward: the dummy battery replaces the usual battery at the camera end, while the adapter provides the power source.

This type of setup is most relevant when access to a power outlet matters more than being free to move around. Think of a camera being used in one position for an extended task: keeping power connected can be more convenient than stopping to change a battery. The trade-off is just as simple. It’s an adapter-based arrangement, so it suits work near a power source, not a setup that needs to stay untethered. The model references also make this a product to identify by its LP-E17 / DR-E18 dummy-battery designation and AC-E6 adapter name. Those are the useful details to keep in view when deciding if this is the type of power accessory your setup calls for. No battery capacity or cable length is implied by the product name.
