The Cokin Adapter Ring P 62 mm connects a lens with a 62 mm filter thread to a Cokin P filter holder, so you can mount the holder and use your chosen filters. It's the link between the lens and the holder, rather than a filter itself. Cokin P is the medium-sized system in Cokin's filter-holder range. Use this ring to put a P holder on a compatible lens, then fit the filters you want in that holder. If you use the same P system across several lenses, a separate ring in each lens's thread size lets you move the holder between them. That keeps the holder and filters in the same system while the lens-side connection changes. The ring is black, and Cokin makes adapter rings in different sizes.

Specialist Note
This ring has a specific job, so it won't do anything on its own without a Cokin P holder. That focused role is exactly why I recommend it when you already use the P system: it joins the holder to the lens thread it was made for. I’d use it to mount the holder with your chosen filters, then move that same holder to another lens by fitting a separate ring in the other lens’s thread size. It’s a straightforward way to keep one P filter setup working across compatible lenses. Just remember that this ring is for the P holder, not another Cokin system.
Size and fit
Cokin offers this adapter-ring design in several thread sizes, so a different lens may need its own matching ring to share the P holder. The product image may show a universal version rather than this exact size. Cokin notes that the visible black edge becomes thinner on rings made for larger thread diameters, so the pictured rim can differ from the one supplied.
