Cokin Round Nuances ND1024 52mm | Make long exposures in daylight

Cokin Round Nuances ND1024 52mm is a 10-stop neutral-density filter for photographers who want to use much slower shutter speeds in bright conditions. It suits landscape photographers, long-exposure specialists and anyone who wants to show movement in water or clouds without letting the image become overexposed. The strong light reduction gives you room to extend exposure while keeping your chosen aperture and ISO unchanged. That makes it especially useful when a scene is too bright for the slow shutter speed you want. It can also help you use a wider aperture outdoors when you want a shallower depth of field. This is a pronounced effect rather than a subtle exposure adjustment, so it’s best when you have a clear reason to slow the shutter or limit incoming light.

What the ND1024 helps you do

A 10-stop reduction lets you turn a short exposure into a much longer one. For example, a shutter speed of 1/125 second becomes about 8 seconds at the same aperture and ISO. That gives moving water time to soften into a smooth-looking surface, or lets clouds travel through the frame. For these long exposures, compose and focus before taking the shot, then use a tripod to keep the stationary parts of the scene sharp.

• Strong light reduction for extending shutter speed in bright scenes
• 52mm filter size for lenses with a matching filter size
