Comica Shotgun Mic Onboard Rec (VM40)

Comica Shotgun Mic Onboard Rec (VM40) | Shotgun sound with onboard recording

For a shoot where you want a shotgun microphone with onboard recording, the Comica Shotgun Mic Onboard Rec (VM40) puts those two ideas in one product name. It’s aimed at people making video who want to consider a shotgun mic for sound capture and onboard recording as part of their setup. The title identifies the mic type and its recording feature, but doesn’t give further details about how either works. That makes this a product to assess against your actual recording needs rather than to choose on assumed connections or controls. If onboard recording is central to your plan, the VM40 is specifically named for that use. If you’re comparing microphones, start with the basic question: do you want a shotgun mic, and do you need onboard recording? Those are the clear points this model puts forward.

A useful way to approach a microphone purchase is to begin with the job you need it to do. Consider where the sound will come from, how you intend to record it, and how the microphone fits into your wider setup. Those questions matter because the product name alone doesn’t tell the whole story of a recording workflow. The VM40’s name gives you a focused starting point: a Comica shotgun mic with onboard recording. It’s a straightforward description, not a reason to assume details beyond those words. For a specialist shop, that distinction matters; your choice should rest on what you know you need, not on features that haven’t been established. This listing stays with the facts available, so you can compare its stated type and recording feature with the requirements of your shoot.
