Fomex LTGD6 For Softbox

Fomex LTGD6 For Softbox | A grid for more controlled softbox light

The defining choice is a grid: it’s an accessory for a softbox, intended for photographers who want to shape the light coming from one. A grid is useful when you want to keep light more directed rather than letting it spread as freely. That makes the Fomex LTGD6 relevant for portraits or other setups where the direction of the light matters. The product name gives you the key point: this is the For Softbox version, not a general-purpose lighting accessory. If you’re looking to add a grid to a softbox-based setup, it’s a focused option to consider. The honest limit is that the name alone doesn’t tell you which softbox models it fits, so don’t assume a particular fit from the product title. What it does tell you is its intended role: a Fomex grid accessory associated with softbox use.

Choosing it for your setup

Think about the way you want to use your softbox. If you’re trying to direct its output more carefully, a grid is the kind of accessory to look at; if you want light to spread freely, that isn’t the aim of a grid. The LTGD6’s title identifies it for softbox use, but it doesn’t name a specific softbox or describe an attachment method. For that reason, base your choice on the actual softbox in your setup rather than relying on the product name as proof of a particular fit. This is a straightforward product to assess by purpose: it’s a Fomex grid accessory for softbox use. That clear role is the useful starting point when deciding whether it belongs in your lighting kit.
