Freewell Osmo Pocket 4p ND8/PL Filter - Black
Freewell Osmo Pocket 4p ND8/PL Filter - Black | Control bright light and reflections
On a bright outdoor shoot, strong light and reflections can make it harder to get the look you want. The Freewell Osmo Pocket 4p ND8/PL Filter is a camera accessory for owners of the Osmo Pocket 4p who want a filter marked for both light reduction and polarisation. It’s most relevant when you’re filming in daylight or pointing the camera towards reflective surfaces such as water or glass. The name gives you the key details: ND8/PL is the filter designation, and black is its stated colour. If you’re choosing an accessory by the exact camera system it names, this one is specified for the Osmo Pocket 4p. Its appeal is focused rather than general: it brings ND8 and PL filtering together in a single named filter.

What ND8/PL means
ND8 refers to a neutral-density reduction of three stops of light. PL refers to polarisation, which can help manage reflected glare. Together, those markings point to a filter suited to bright scenes where you also want to address reflections. The ND8 strength is fixed, so it’s a specific option rather than an adjustable level of light reduction.
Specialist Note
Bright conditions and distracting reflections are the two things this filter is meant to address. The ND8 rating gives you a three-stop reduction in light, which is useful when you’re filming outdoors in strong daylight; PL adds polarisation to help tame glare from surfaces such as water or glass. I’d consider it for Osmo Pocket 4p owners filming beside a lake or capturing a sunny street scene, especially when reflections are part of the shot. Keep in mind that ND8 is a fixed strength, so it won’t adapt as the light changes. It’s a focused option for those particular conditions.
