GREEN.L CPL 46mm

GREEN.L CPL 46mm | Control reflections and deepen skies

At a pond, a shop window or a sunlit landscape, reflections can hide the detail you want to photograph. The GREEN.L CPL 46mm is a circular polarizing filter for photographers who want more control over those reflections and the look of a bright sky. It’s a good fit for someone whose lens takes a 46mm filter and who enjoys adjusting the effect while composing. A polarizer can reduce glare from non-metallic surfaces, helping colour and detail show through, and can make a blue sky appear richer when the shooting angle is right. The result depends on the light and your position, so it’s a filter to use deliberately rather than leave on by default. For water, foliage and outdoor scenes, that hands-on control is the main reason to keep a CPL close by.

Getting the most from a CPL

Rotate the filter while looking through your viewfinder or at your screen, and watch how the reflections change. On water or glass, stop where you can see the detail you want; for a sky, the effect is usually strongest when you’re shooting at roughly a right angle to the sun. The result can vary across a wide view, so check the whole frame before taking the picture. A polarizer also reduces the light reaching the camera, which may mean using a slower shutter speed or raising ISO in dim conditions.
