H&Y 95mm Drop-In Blue Streak Filter
H&Y 95mm Drop-In Blue Streak Filter | Add a blue-streak look to bright lights
H&Y 95mm Drop-In Blue Streak Filter is a 95mm drop-in filter for photographers who want a blue-streak effect in their images. It suits people who deliberately include bright light sources in the frame, from city signs after dark to stage lighting. The filter’s purpose is creative rather than corrective: it brings a distinctive streak effect to scenes where those lights are part of the composition. Its drop-in format makes it relevant to a setup designed to use 95mm drop-in filters, rather than a general screw-in filter selection. Think about the light you want to feature before reaching for it; the effect has little to contribute if the scene has no bright points of light. For night scenes, try composing with a lamp or illuminated sign in view, then judge how much of the effect suits the image. It’s a focused tool for shaping the look of light, not an everyday filter for every subject.
Specialist Note
Photographers framing night streets, illuminated signs or stage lights are the ones I’d talk to about the H&Y Blue Streak. The 95mm format matters when choosing it: your setup needs to be built for that size, so it’s worth matching the filter to the holder you already use. Its drop-in design is also a practical detail for a compatible drop-in setup, rather than a filter you select by screw-in thread. To bring the effect into the picture, compose with a bright light source clearly in frame and let it become part of the image, not just background illumination. One honest caveat: in a scene without prominent lights, this effect has little to work with. I’d choose it for a deliberate night-time or stage-light look.
