Hahnemühle Photo Rag Metallic 50''ROLL 12 M

Hahnemühle Photo Rag Metallic 50''ROLL 12 M | Wide photo paper in a 12-metre roll

Hahnemühle Photo Rag Metallic is a 50-inch-wide, 12-metre roll of photo paper, made for photographers and print studios planning wide-format output. The name identifies it as the Metallic version of Photo Rag; the roll format gives you a continuous length to work with rather than separate sheets. That can be handy when you’re preparing prints in different lengths or want to keep a roll available for a run of wide images. The 50-inch width is the key detail to consider first: it gives you a broad working format, but your planned print sizes and workflow should make good use of that width. This is a specialist paper option for people choosing stock for photographic printing, rather than a general-purpose paper listing. If you’re comparing formats, the product name gives you the essentials at a glance: the range, the Metallic designation, the roll format, the width and the length.

Working with the roll format

A 12-metre roll gives you a length of paper to draw from as your print work requires. That’s a practical format when you’re producing prints with varying lengths, rather than choosing a fixed sheet size for every image. The first decision is whether the 50-inch width suits the work you intend to print; it’s a substantial width, so it makes most sense when your output can use it. Think about the sizes you print most often and how you prefer to handle paper in your workspace. The product is named Photo Rag Metallic, so that designation is part of the choice too. If you already know you want this paper range in a wide roll, the title makes the important format details easy to assess before you plan a print run.
