Iiyama 19 LCD 5:4 TN
Iiyama 19 LCD 5:4 TN | A compact screen with a near-square shape
For documents, menus and other work that suits a compact, upright screen, the Iiyama 19 LCD 5:4 TN gives you a different shape from a widescreen monitor. It’s a 19-inch LCD monitor with a 5:4 aspect ratio and a TN panel. That 5:4 format keeps the display relatively tall compared with its width, which can make sense when your workspace is arranged around a traditional, less panoramic screen. The 19-inch size gives you a defined desktop display without taking over the space like a much larger screen might. I’d consider it for straightforward desk use where the screen’s proportions matter more than a widescreen layout. The TN panel type is also useful to know when comparing monitors, especially if panel technology is part of your decision. This is a focused option: its appeal is the specific combination of 19-inch size and 5:4 format, rather than a long list of extras.

How the screen shape can suit your desk
A 5:4 screen gives you a more upright working area than a panoramic format. That can suit a desk setup centred on text, menus or a compact application window, where a very wide display isn’t the priority. Think about the shape of the content you spend most of your time viewing: this Iiyama’s format is the defining reason to consider it.
Specialist Note
For a compact 5:4 desktop layout, this Iiyama gives you the upright screen shape directly, rather than relying on a wide display. I’d point it out to someone who mainly works with documents or compact interfaces and wants a screen whose proportions suit that sort of layout. The 19-inch size gives you a defined area for that work without choosing a larger screen; the 5:4 ratio is the detail that makes the layout feel less panoramic. Its TN panel designation is useful when comparing panel types, but I’d weigh that against your own needs for viewing angle or colour-sensitive work rather than assume it’s the right fit for those tasks. It’s a specific-format monitor, not a widescreen all-rounder.
