Ilford Cotton Artist Textured 310GSM 60" 152.4cmx15m 1ROLL

Ilford Cotton Artist Textured 310GSM 60" 152.4cmx15m 1ROLL | Textured paper for considered prints

Your print has a textured paper surface, giving the choice of paper a visible role in the finished image. Ilford Cotton Artist Textured is photo paper named for its cotton construction and artist-textured finish, supplied as one roll. It suits photographers and printmakers looking for a broad roll format and a surface that isn’t described as smooth. The roll measures 60 inches, also given as 152.4cm, and is 15 metres long; its weight is 310gsm. Those are useful details to weigh up when deciding whether this paper fits the size and feel you want for a print. The honest point is that the title gives you a clear sense of the material and format, but not a detailed account of how it will render a particular image. If surface texture matters to your work, this is a specific option to consider.

Choosing this paper

Think about the print you want to make, not just the paper’s weight. A textured surface is part of the finished presentation, so it may suit images where you want the paper itself to be noticeable. The cotton and artist-textured naming also makes this a paper to consider for print work where that kind of surface is part of your decision. Those descriptions don’t tell you exactly how a particular photograph will look on it, so your image and preferred finish still matter.

The 60-inch width and 15-metre length make this a roll rather than a small, individual sheet pack. That format is worth considering when planning prints by size or quantity. Compare the roll dimensions and 310gsm weight with the needs of your intended work, and choose it for the qualities actually named here: cotton, texture and a substantial paper weight. It’s a straightforward option to assess when those are the details guiding your paper choice.
