Ilford Matt Cotton Medina 320GSM 24" 61cmx15m 1ROLL

Ilford Matt Cotton Medina 320GSM 24" 61cmx15m 1ROLL | A roll for planned photo-printing runs

Rather than working from a stack of pre-cut sheets, you can plan a print run around a roll. Ilford Matt Cotton Medina is photo paper in a matte cotton finish, supplied as a 320gsm roll measuring 24 inches (61cm) wide and 15 metres long. It suits photographers and printmakers who already know the format and paper weight they need, and want a roll rather than individual sheets. The clearest reason to choose it is that combination of named paper, weight and roll size. It gives you useful information for comparing options and planning how much stock a job calls for. A paper’s name and weight won’t tell you how every image will look, of course; the right choice still depends on your own print workflow and the result you want. If these stated details match your requirements, this is a straightforward option to consider.

Roll paper makes most sense when your work is organised around a specific output width or a series of prints, rather than a single sheet at a time. Think through the sizes you expect to produce and how you’ll handle the paper after printing. That bit of planning can help you judge whether a roll format suits the way you work. It’s also worth considering the paper as part of the whole print process: the image, the intended presentation and the finishing all matter. The product name gives you a specific surface and weight to assess, without relying on a broad label such as “photo paper” alone.

For a studio, print workspace or photographer who orders media to a known format, the roll length gives a clear basis for planning stock. There’s no need to treat a long roll as an automatic advantage if your work is occasional or you prefer ready-sized sheets; choose it because the dimensions fit the job you have in mind. That’s the honest distinction here. This listing is best approached as a defined paper format for people who have already settled on a roll workflow, rather than as a general recommendation for every printer or every kind of print.
