Ilford Simplicity Film Dealer Wet (12)

Ilford Simplicity Film Dealer Wet (12) - 12 single-use wetting-agent sachets

At the end of a film or print process, drying marks can spoil an otherwise carefully handled result. Ilford Simplicity Film Dealer Wet (12) is a concentrated liquid wetting agent supplied in 12 single-use sachets, for darkroom workers who want to reduce that risk. It’s suitable for film and photographic paper, and can be used in manual as well as machine processing. For film, the sachets provide a measured dose for processing either 16 rolls of 35mm film or eight rolls of 120 film, depending on the stated tank setup. It also has a role with fibre-based prints: used before drying, it promotes quick, even drying. The small sachets keep the product portioned for individual use, rather than requiring you to measure out a larger bottle. It’s a focused darkroom consumable, with a clear purpose at the finishing stage of processing.

Darkroom Features

• Concentrated liquid agent: The formula is supplied as a concentrate, with each sachet containing a measured portion. That keeps the product in a single-use format for darkroom sessions.
• For 35mm and 120 film: The stated yield is 16 rolls of 35mm film or eight rolls of 120 film. The difference in capacity reflects the film format and the listed tank setup.
• Manual and machine processing: It’s suitable for both processing methods. You can use the same wetting agent in a manual workflow or a machine-based process.
• For film and photographic paper: As well as its film use, the agent is suitable before drying fibre-based prints. It promotes a quick, even drying result for those prints.
• Non-ionic and antistatic: The wetting agent is non-ionic and has antistatic properties. These are useful characteristics in a product intended for the final stages of film and print processing.

Good to know

For the stated 120-film yield, the reference setup is a two-reel developing tank with a 600 ml capacity. The sachet’s contents are diluted with 600 ml of water for that use. This is the specific tank and dilution context attached to the eight-roll figure, so it’s worth matching those details to your own processing setup when interpreting the stated yield.
