Ilford Textured Cotton Rag 310GSM 64" 162.6cmx15m 1ROLL

Ilford Textured Cotton Rag 310gsm 64-inch Roll | A textured surface for expressive prints

Ilford Textured Cotton Rag 310gsm, in a 64-inch (162.6 cm) by 15 m roll, is a wide-format photo paper with a textured surface. It’s for photographers and printmakers who want the paper’s surface to play a visible part in the finished image, rather than treating paper as a neutral carrier. The stated weight gives you a useful point of reference when comparing paper stocks, while the roll format suits print work planned from a continuous length rather than individual sheets. That 64-inch width makes it relevant when a broad paper format is part of the job. This is a surface-led choice: the texture will suit some images better than others, depending on the look you want. If you prefer a smooth, unobtrusive finish, this is a different direction.

Choosing the surface

When deciding which images to print on textured paper, consider how the surface fits the mood and presentation you have in mind. It’s a visible part of the print, so it can be a deliberate choice for a photograph or artwork, not simply a detail to overlook. The cotton rag description and 310gsm weight give this paper a clear identity for a print workflow. I’d choose it because the image and the intended presentation suit a textured surface, rather than choosing on weight alone. That’s the honest trade-off: texture brings a particular look, and it won’t be the right match for every image. Think about the finished print first, then decide whether this surface is the one you want to work with.
