The JJC LH-JXF1855II Fuji 14/18-55 Lens Hood is made for the Fujifilm XF 14mm F2.8 R and XF 18-55mm F2.8-4 R LM OIS lenses, and replaces the original Fuji 14/18-55 hood. Its lens-specific shape cuts down on stray light, which is useful when photographing a bright building with the sun just outside the composition or working near a window. The extended front edge also gives the lens extra protection from accidental knocks while you’re carrying it or framing a shot. This is a straightforward replacement for owners of either compatible lens: it helps keep flare under control in challenging light and adds a protective edge without changing the look of the lens and camera system.

Specialist Note
58 mm is the filter size this hood accommodates, so you can keep using a compatible filter with the hood fitted. I’d consider it for either of the two named XF lenses if you often frame scenes with bright light coming from the side: the hood’s matte interior cuts reflections that could otherwise show up as flare. Its aluminium-alloy body also adds a firm protective edge when the lens is being carried or used in a busy place. The synthetic-resin bayonet is a thoughtful detail at the lens connection. Just keep in mind that this hood’s fit is specific to the XF 14mm F2.8 R and XF 18-55mm F2.8-4 R LM OIS.
