That makes it a practical option when the boundary between sky and foreground isn’t perfectly straight, such as around distant hills or rooftops. It’s best suited to scenes where the sky is brighter than the subject below. You’ll need to position the gradient to match the composition, but the larger rectangular format gives you room to do that.
