K&F Concept Variable ND Filter ND8-128 Nano X 52mm
K&F Concept Variable ND Filter ND8-128 Nano X 52mm | Adjust light to suit the shot
Bright conditions can force you to change the look you want: close the aperture, raise the shutter speed, or accept more light than your shot needs. The K&F Concept Variable ND Filter ND8-128 Nano X gives you a way to reduce incoming light across a variable range, so you can make exposure adjustments while keeping your chosen camera settings. It’s for photographers and videographers who want more control when working outdoors or in other bright environments. That can be useful for video, where you may want to keep a particular shutter speed, or for stills where a slower shutter can show movement in water. The 52mm size makes it relevant to lenses that take 52mm filters. Its appeal is straightforward: choose the amount of light reduction that suits the scene, rather than treating every bright situation the same.
Think of a variable ND as an exposure tool, not a way to improve every image. Decide first what you want your aperture or shutter speed to do, then use the filter to bring the exposure back into range. For moving water, that can help you work with a slower shutter; for video, it can help retain your chosen shutter setting as the light changes. The result still depends on the scene and your camera settings, so check the exposure as you make adjustments.
Specialist Note
“Can I dial in less or more light with this filter?” Yes—the ND8-128 range gives you variable light reduction, which is handy when a scene changes but you want to keep your chosen settings. I’d consider it for outdoor video, where you can adjust the reduction to hold your preferred shutter speed, or for water photography when you want to work with a slower shutter. The 52mm size is the detail to match to your lens’s filter size; it won’t suit a lens that takes a different size. If you’re after a fixed, repeatable ND strength, a variable filter may not be the simplest option.
