K&F Concept Variable ND Filter ND8-2000 Super Slim 77mm
K&F Concept Variable ND Filter ND8-2000 Super Slim 77mm | Control bright light with ease
For slowing a shutter speed in bright conditions, a variable ND filter can make moving water appear softer and flowing, rather than frozen in place. The K&F Concept Variable ND Filter ND8-2000 Super Slim 77mm gives you an adjustable neutral-density range from ND8 to ND2000, so you can reduce the light reaching the camera to suit the shot. That’s useful for outdoor photographers who want longer exposures in daylight, or more freedom to choose a wide aperture without the scene becoming too bright. Instead of changing filters as the light level shifts, you can adjust the density to find an exposure that works. The range also makes it handy when you’re moving between different kinds of scenes. It’s a practical option for landscape work, waterside scenes and other situations where controlling incoming light matters as much as choosing your composition.
Making use of the range
For a river or waterfall, reduce the light enough to use a slower shutter speed and show movement in the water. In bright sunlight, reducing light can also help you keep a wider aperture for a shallower depth of field. The result depends on your exposure settings and the scene, so make small adjustments and review the image as you go.
Specialist Note
Bright daylight can leave you choosing between a fast shutter and the look you actually want; this filter gives you another way to balance the exposure. Its 77mm size is the detail to match against the filter thread on your lens, so you know it’ll fit before you head out. The super-slim design keeps the filter profile low at the front of the lens, which is helpful when you want to keep your setup neat. For moving water, lower the shutter speed and adjust the filter until the exposure looks right; for portraits outdoors, use the light reduction to keep a wider aperture. For very long exposures, a steady tripod still matters.
