Kaiser Conversiefilter M.kleppen
Kaiser Conversion Filter with Flaps | A more controlled studio colour setup
The defining choice is the addition of flaps: they give you something to handle and position as you work the conversion filter into a studio setup. Kaiser’s Conversiefilter M.kleppen is a specialist accessory for photographers whose work calls for colour conversion as part of their lighting process. It suits a studio photographer adjusting the colour of light for a portrait or product scene, particularly when that adjustment needs to be considered alongside the rest of the setup rather than left until editing. The flaps make the filter easier to work with during setup, while the conversion-filter design is the reason to choose this model in the first place. I’d think of it as a practical, purpose-specific tool, not a general-purpose studio accessory: its value depends on needing colour conversion in your workflow. If you’re building a lighting setup around controlled colour, this Kaiser gives you a dedicated filter to work into that process.
Specialist Note
The flaps give you something to adjust as you bring the filter into your setup, so handling it can be part of arranging the light rather than an afterthought. As a conversion filter, it’s for photographers who want to work on colour at the lighting stage; that makes it relevant for a portrait where skin tones need careful attention, or a product scene where the light’s colour affects how the item appears. I’d decide on the intended colour balance first, then incorporate the filter before settling the rest of the setup. The flaps are a practical detail, but this remains a specialised filter: it makes sense when conversion is the job you need done.
