Kenko Celeste C-PL 55mm
Kenko Celeste C-PL 55mm | Manage reflections and glare
Kenko Celeste C-PL 55mm is a 55mm polarizing filter for photographers who want more control over reflections in a scene. It suits anyone whose lens takes a 55mm filter and who often photographs water, glass or bright outdoor views. A polarizer can reduce reflected glare and deepen the appearance of a blue sky, helping colour and detail show more clearly in the right light. The effect changes as you turn the filter, so you can judge the result through your camera and adjust before taking the shot. It’s most useful when reflections are distracting rather than when you want to remove every highlight. For landscapes, travel photographs and scenes through windows, this gives you a hands-on way to shape what the camera records. The key practical check is simple: the filter size needs to match the lens’s front filter thread.
Specialist Note
At a canal-side table, sunlight skips across the water and hides the colour beneath. This is where a C-PL earns its place: turn the filter while viewing the scene and watch the reflected glare change, stopping when you’ve kept the detail you want. The 55mm size is useful only for lenses with a matching front thread, so check the marking on the lens before choosing it. I’d suggest it to someone who regularly photographs water, shop windows or open skies and wants to adjust reflections at the camera. One honest point: a polarizer’s effect depends on the light and your angle to it, so it won’t give the same result in every scene.
