Kondor Blue KB-CAR-85 Cine Lens Clamp-On Adapter Rings 95-85 Adapter
Kondor Blue KB-CAR-85 Cine Lens Clamp-On Adapter Rings 95-85 Adapter | Bridges two clamp-on sizes
Bring 95 mm and 85 mm clamp-on sizing together at the front of a cine-lens setup, so components made for those two diameters can work in the same rig. The Kondor Blue KB-CAR-85 Cine Lens Clamp-On Adapter Rings 95-85 Adapter is a size-bridging ring for that specific pairing. It suits camera operators and assistants assembling or reconfiguring a cine-lens front when the lens-side fitting and the next clamp-on component have different diameters. Match each component to the corresponding size and the ring provides the connection between them, rather than relying on a makeshift fit. It’s best for a setup where those two clamp-on sizes are already known and need to meet neatly. Think of it as a mechanical fitment part, not an optical adapter: it doesn’t change the lens’s focal length or aperture. Choose it for this particular 95-to-85 pairing, rather than as a universal adapter.
Specialist Note
This ring solves a 95-to-85 clamp-on mismatch at the lens front, without having to improvise a connection between differently sized parts. The two diameters are the useful detail: use it where one component is 95 mm and its mating clamp-on component is 85 mm, so the transition happens at the ring. The clamp-on format keeps its job specific to joining lens-front fittings; it won’t alter the image like an optical adapter might. I’d recommend it to camera assistants and operators planning a cine-lens front around those sizes, whether they’re building a rig or reconfiguring one for another setup. The limitation is straightforward: it won’t make arbitrary fittings compatible; the connected parts need to suit the stated sizes and clamp-on format.
