Laowa 12mm T2.9 Cine Front Lens Cap
Laowa 12mm T2.9 Cine Front Lens Cap | A dedicated cover for your cine lens
The defining choice is a front cap named for Laowa’s 12mm T2.9 Cine lens: it gives owners a dedicated way to cover the front of the lens when it’s off the camera or between setups. That’s useful in a cine workflow, where a lens may move between a rig, storage and the next take. This cap suits cinematographers and crews who already use the Laowa 12mm T2.9 Cine and want a straightforward way to cover it during pauses and transport. Its appeal is practical, not optical: it doesn’t change the lens’s image or how it handles. It’s simply a front lens cap for the named Laowa cine lens. If that’s the lens in your kit, this is the accessory to keep with it when filming stops.
In a cine workflow
A cap is most useful when it has a regular place in the working routine. Keep it with the lens between setups, then put it back on when the lens is set aside or packed away. That makes the cap easy to account for during a busy changeover, without asking it to do more than cover the front of the lens. For a crew with several pieces of kit in motion, a product named for the specific lens also makes its intended pairing clear.
Specialist Note
At a dawn interior setup, the crew pauses before the next take and the front cap earns its place while the lens is set aside. I’d keep this one with the Laowa 12mm T2.9 Cine, rather than let it disappear into a general accessory pouch. The 12mm focal length gives a broad view for interiors or establishing shots, so take care with what enters the edges of your frame. T2.9 is the lens’s stated aperture; use that setting when it suits the exposure you need, then cover the front when the take is over. This is a specific match for owners of that Laowa lens, not a general-purpose cap.
