Laowa Nanomorph 60mm T2.9 1.5X S35 Macro 1:2 (Blue) ARRI PL | Anamorphic macro detail for S35

Fine surface detail sits within a distinctive anamorphic frame with the Laowa Nanomorph 60mm T2.9. Made for S35-format cameras, this manual-focus PL-mount lens is a considered option for filmmakers working on product details, nature close-ups and other small subjects. Its 1:2 macro ratio renders a subject at half life size on the sensor, giving you room to show texture and shape without relying on extreme magnification. The 1.5x squeeze brings an anamorphic character to the image; plan to de-squeeze the footage in your post-production workflow. At 60mm, it offers a focused perspective for carefully composed shots, while the T2.9 maximum aperture gives you exposure flexibility. It’s a specialist lens for deliberate framing and focus, rather than a quick autofocus setup.

Specialist Note

1:2 means your subject appears at half its life size on the sensor, which is useful when you want product texture or the detail of a leaf to fill the frame without going to extreme magnification. For a small object, I’d start by framing the feature you want viewers to notice, then turn the manual focus carefully onto that point. The T2.9 maximum aperture gives you more exposure latitude when working in a dimmer setting. This 60mm lens suits planned close-up shots on an S35 setup. Bear in mind that manual focus asks for a measured pace, and the 1.5x image needs de-squeezing in post.
