Lastolite Collaps Panelite Reflec 180x120cm Silverw/Hite

Lastolite Collaps Panelite Reflector 180x120cm Silver/White | Shape light across a broad area

When a subject is lit unevenly by a window or a lamp, a reflector can help bring some of that light back onto the darker side. The Lastolite Collaps Panelite Reflector gives you a broad surface to work with: it measures 180 x 120 cm and is silver/white. That makes it a practical option for photographers who want to adjust the light around a subject without adding another light source. Its large format is particularly helpful when you need to work across a wider area rather than direct reflected light onto one small spot. You can use it as part of a considered lighting setup at home or in a studio. One honest point: a reflector needs light to reflect, so the result depends on the light already available and where you position the panel.

Working with a large reflector

With a panel of this size, placement is worth thinking through before you start shooting. Move it around the subject and watch how the light changes; even a small adjustment can alter where the brighter area falls. The silver/white finish gives you two surfaces to work with, so you can compare the effect in your scene and choose the one that suits it. In a portrait, for example, you might position the panel to bring light back toward the face. For another subject, the useful angle may be quite different. There isn’t one fixed position that works for every setup. Take a test frame, assess the shadows, then make a small change. That simple process helps you judge the panel by the light it produces in your actual space.
