Marumi Protect Filter Super DHG 46 mm
Marumi Protect Filter Super DHG 46 mm | Everyday protection for your lens
A bare front lens can pick up fingerprints and dust during everyday use, and even careful handling can leave you worrying about accidental contact. The Marumi Protect Filter Super DHG gives the lens a protective surface in front of its glass, so routine handling and cleaning needn’t involve touching the lens itself. It’s a straightforward option for photographers who want to keep a lens ready for regular use, from quick outings to days when gear is being packed and unpacked often. Its main job is protection, not changing how you shoot or adding a creative effect. Keep the filter’s own surface clean, and it can take the place of the front element as the surface you handle when removing dust or fingerprints. It’s a practical choice when you’d rather prevent everyday contact from becoming a concern.
Fit and everyday use
Filter sizes are given in millimetres. Match the size specified for your lens’s filter thread to the size of this filter before fitting it. Once in place, the filter is there to protect the lens during use; a lens cap remains useful when you’re packing or storing your gear. This is a simple way to build front-element protection into your normal routine.
Specialist Note
“Will this fit my lens, and is it suitable to leave on?” It’s a good option if your lens takes a 46 mm filter: that number is the fit to match, so it’s worth looking at your lens’s filter-thread marking. The black colour keeps the filter visually discreet on a black lens. I’d use it for everyday carrying or while shooting in places where fingers and dust are likely to reach the front of the lens. Keep the filter fitted for that extra barrier, and use a lens cap for storage. One honest point: the filter surface can collect marks too, so it still needs occasional cleaning.
