Meike Drop-In Variable ND Filter For Drop-In Mount Adapter
Meike Drop-In Variable ND Filter For Drop-In Mount Adapter | Adjust exposure in bright light
To keep a chosen shutter speed or aperture within reach in bright light, a neutral-density filter reduces the light reaching the camera, making slower exposures or wider apertures possible. The Meike Drop-In Variable ND Filter For Drop-In Mount Adapter is a variable ND filter designed for use with a drop-in mount adapter. It can help you pursue soft movement in a stream or retain a wide-aperture look in daylight when the scene would otherwise be too bright for your intended settings. It suits photographers and filmmakers using a setup with a drop-in mount adapter who want ND adjustment within that arrangement. The appeal of a variable filter is being able to adjust the ND effect to suit the shot rather than choosing one fixed ND value. For deliberate motion, choose the shutter-speed look first and use ND to manage exposure; for stills, it can help preserve your aperture choice as daylight changes.
Specialist Note
This Meike puts variable ND into the drop-in mount adapter arrangement, so you can manage bright-light exposure within that setup. The variable effect lets you adjust the light reduction to suit your exposure rather than being tied to one fixed ND value. For moving water, you might aim for 1/30 sec and adjust the filter to bring exposure into line; the result depends on the light, aperture and ISO, so that shutter speed won’t suit every scene. It’s a good fit if you already work with a drop-in mount adapter and want to pursue motion blur or a wide-aperture look in bright conditions. The filter doesn’t create blur itself—that comes from your shutter speed.
