Nedis CAT6a Network Cable RJ45 M RJ45 M 0.5m Snagless Round LSZH Grey Label

Nedis CAT6a Network Cable RJ45 M RJ45 M 0.5m Snagless Round LSZH Grey Label | A short link for nearby network equipment

When network equipment sits close together, a long cable can leave excess lead to route and tuck away. This Nedis cable provides a half-metre connection between two RJ45 network sockets. Both ends have male RJ45 connectors, so it plugs into matching sockets rather than joining two loose cable ends. Its CAT6a designation suits installations using CAT6a cable. The round cable is grey, snagless and LSZH. The short length is the point: use it where the two connection points are near each other, such as on a desk or a compact equipment shelf. If the route crosses a room or follows a longer path, 0.5 m will be restrictive. For a nearby connection, though, it avoids leaving a long coil of cable to manage.

Choosing the right cable length

Measure the route between the sockets, not just the straight-line gap. Allow for where the plugs need to sit and how the cable will pass around nearby objects; a little room to position the equipment makes the connection easier to manage. I’d choose this cable when the two points can be placed close together, and a longer lead when the route needs to go around a desk or reach another level. It’s a focused option for a short connection, rather than a cable to run across a room. That makes it worth matching the length to the actual layout before you connect everything.
