Nikon HB-5 52mm Bayonet Lens Hood For AF35-105
Nikon HB-5 52mm Bayonet Lens Hood For AF35-105 | Helps block stray light
Stray light coming in from the side can cause unwanted flare and reduce contrast, especially when a bright light source sits just outside your frame. The Nikon HB-5 is a bayonet lens hood made for the AF35-105, helping shield the lens from that off-axis light as you compose. It suits photographers using that lens who want a straightforward way to manage flare in bright outdoor scenes or near windows and other strong light sources. A hood can also help keep the front of the lens clear of accidental bumps during everyday handling. This is a specific accessory for the AF35-105, rather than a general-purpose hood to choose by appearance alone. If flare comes from a light source inside the picture, though, a hood may not solve it; changing your angle or composition can still be necessary.
Specialist Note
“Does the HB-5 fit the AF35-105?” Yes, that’s the lens this hood is made for. Its 52mm bayonet fitting means it attaches at the lens’s bayonet rather than relying on a screw-in thread, so line it up and secure it before you start shooting. I’d suggest it to AF35-105 owners who often photograph outdoors in bright, angled light, or work beside a sunny window: the hood helps keep that side light off the lens and can help preserve contrast. It’s a focused accessory, not a cure for flare when a bright light is in the frame itself; in that case, try shifting your shooting position.
