PolarPro Chroma VND/PL 6-9 - Coarse Threaded - 95mm - McKinnon Series
PolarPro Chroma VND/PL 6-9 - Coarse Threaded - 95mm - McKinnon Series | Control exposure and reflections together
Bright daylight can make it hard to keep your chosen shutter speed while also managing reflections from water or glass. The PolarPro Chroma VND/PL brings variable neutral-density control and a polarizing effect into one filter, giving you both tools in a single setup. It suits filmmakers and photographers who want to shape exposure and reduce distracting reflections without stacking separate filters. For video, the variable ND function helps you retain a deliberate shutter speed when the light is strong. For landscapes or reflective scenes, the polarizing function can help cut glare and bring more detail into view. It’s a focused tool for situations where both kinds of control matter; if you only need one of them, a dedicated filter may be simpler. The McKinnon Series name identifies this version of PolarPro’s Chroma VND/PL filter.
Specialist Note
This filter handles exposure and reflections in one place, instead of asking you to stack a variable ND and a separate polarizer. Its 6–9-stop range is for strong light reduction: I’d consider it for bright outdoor video or a sunlit waterside scene, where you need to hold your chosen shutter speed and also tame glare. The 95mm coarse-threaded fitting is a detail to match carefully to your filter holder; it’s not a universal fit. One honest point: starting at 6 stops makes this a tool for substantial light, not a subtle exposure adjustment. If that’s the job, the combined VND/PL design keeps the setup more direct.
