PolarPro Goldstache Filter - 82mm Threaded
PolarPro Goldstache Filter - 82mm Threaded | Manage reflections in-camera
Reduce distracting reflections at the lens and keep more control over the finished image with the PolarPro Goldstache Filter, a threaded 82mm polarizing filter. It suits photographers who want to manage glare while making the picture, rather than relying on editing to deal with every reflection later. Use it when shooting through a shop window or photographing water: rotate the filter while looking through the viewfinder to find the balance between visible reflections and a clearer view of what’s behind them. A polarizer can also deepen the look of a blue sky when you shoot from a suitable angle. The Goldstache’s 82mm thread gives you a clear fit size to match against a lens’s filter thread. Its purpose is selective control, not blanket glare removal; the result depends on the light and your shooting angle.
Specialist Note
The Goldstache gives you a way to change reflections as you frame, instead of trying to rescue them in post. Its 82mm size is the key detail to match: it’s for a lens with an 82mm filter thread, so check the marking on the lens before choosing it. The threaded fitting means it attaches at the front of the lens, where you can rotate the filter and judge the change in the viewfinder. I’d use it for a window scene or water with glare across the subject, turning it gently until the reflection is reduced to the level you want. It won’t remove every reflection, and the result varies with your angle to the light.
