PolarPro VND Diffusion Filter 2/5 Stops Mist Edition 67mm

PolarPro VND Diffusion Filter 2/5 Stops Mist Edition 67mm | Control light and soften the look

Without a filter, changing exposure in bright conditions often means changing your camera settings or accepting a faster shutter speed. The PolarPro VND Diffusion Filter combines a variable neutral-density range with a mist effect, giving you two creative considerations in one filter. It’s for photographers and filmmakers who want to manage the amount of light reaching the camera while choosing a softer, more diffused look. The 2/5-stop range gives you room to adjust exposure, while the Mist Edition adds its own visual character. It’s particularly relevant when you want to work with a slower shutter speed in brighter light without giving up that diffusion effect. This 67mm version is identified by its filter diameter, so match that measurement to the filter thread on your lens before buying.

Working with the exposure range

A variable filter lets you adjust its effect rather than choosing a single fixed density. The stated range runs from 2 to 5 stops, so you can make smaller exposure changes or reduce more light as conditions call for it. For a simple exposure example, if your unfiltered reading is 1/500 sec, two stops of reduction corresponds to 1/125 sec, while five stops corresponds to about 1/16 sec, assuming the same aperture and ISO. That can help when you want motion to appear less frozen in a bright scene. The mist effect gives the filter a second creative purpose beyond exposure control.
