Radius Lavalier Mic Foam Windshields Black Pack Of 5
Radius Lavalier Mic Foam Windshields Black Pack Of 5 | A simple buffer against wind noise
Wind catching a lavalier microphone can distract from a clear spoken recording, especially during an interview or a piece to camera. The Radius Lavalier Mic Foam Windshields are covers for lavalier microphones, intended to help reduce wind reaching the mic. They’re black, so they keep a low profile on camera, and the pack of five gives you spares or covers for several microphones. These suit video makers, interviewers and presenters who use lavalier mics and want a straightforward way to manage light wind noise. They’re a focused accessory rather than a fix for every recording problem: use them to soften airflow at the microphone, not as a substitute for choosing a sheltered recording spot when conditions are gusty. If you’re putting together a small audio kit, having extra covers close by can also save a recording day from being interrupted by a missing or misplaced one.
Specialist Note
For wind noise at a lavalier mic, this foam cover is a better answer than leaving the capsule bare and hoping for calm air. I’d suggest it to anyone recording interviews or presenter pieces, particularly where a light breeze might reach the microphone. Keep the lav close to the speaker and out of direct airflow where you can; the cover helps tame the wind without changing your recording setup. The pack contains five, which is handy if you keep spares in your audio bag or use several lav mics. Just bear in mind that foam is a modest buffer, not a shield against strong gusts.
