Radius Shotgun Mic Foam Windshield 10cm Std Hole
Radius Shotgun Mic Foam Windshield 10cm Std Hole | A simple screen for wind around your mic
For spoken audio recorded with a shotgun mic, a foam windshield helps keep moving air from getting in the way of the voice. The Radius Shotgun Mic Foam Windshield 10cm Std Hole is a straightforward cover for recording situations where the microphone is exposed to air movement. Its 10cm length gives you a defined size to match to your setup, and the standard-hole design describes the opening style. It’s aimed at camera operators, interviewers and solo creators using a shotgun microphone who want a simple physical screen without changing their recording approach. Fit it over the microphone before recording, then position and aim the mic as you normally would for the speaker. This is a focused accessory: its job is to help manage wind at the mic, rather than alter the rest of your audio setup.
Specialist Note
This foam cover addresses air hitting a shotgun mic right at the microphone. At 10cm long, it gives you a compact cover to account for when positioning the mic; keep it aimed toward the speaker, and make sure the cover doesn’t obstruct your framing if it’s visible. The standard hole matters when matching the windshield to a mic: I’d treat it as a particular opening style, not assume it fits every barrel. For interviews or spoken narration, fit the cover before setting levels, then listen to a short take and adjust mic placement if wind is still competing with the voice. It suits someone after a simple screen, though careful placement still matters in difficult conditions.
