Rycote Modular Windshield 4 Kit w/ Green Windjammer
Rycote Modular Windshield 4 Kit w/ Green Windjammer | Helps tame wind noise outdoors
Cleaner recordings in breezy conditions are the goal of the Rycote Modular Windshield 4 Kit w/ Green Windjammer. It’s a microphone accessory for recording situations where wind across the microphone can distract from speech or ambient sound. The product name identifies a modular windshield kit, paired with a green windjammer; together, those details make it a dedicated option for managing wind during a recording rather than a general-purpose microphone accessory. It may suit sound recordists and video makers who work outside and want wind protection as part of their microphone setup. Think outdoor dialogue, interviews or location sound where gusts can come and go during a take. The title alone doesn’t establish which microphones it fits, so I’d avoid assuming compatibility based on appearance or the word “4” in the name. If you’re considering it for a particular microphone, ask us to help identify the right fit.
Specialist Note
The Rycote Modular Windshield 4 Kit w/ Green Windjammer is made for one clear job: helping reduce wind noise around a microphone. I’d consider it for outdoor dialogue or recording ambient sound, where wind can make a take harder to use. The “modular” in the name is worth noting, but I wouldn’t guess at how its parts configure without confirming the details for your setup. The green windjammer is another specific point: it’s the named outer wind protection, and its colour may help you recognise the piece among your recording gear. If you’re matching it to a particular microphone, bring us the model name so we can advise on fit.
