Sachtler SAC-S2080-0005 Adaptor Aktiv Slider / Tripod 75 mm
Sachtler SAC-S2080-0005 Adaptor Aktiv Slider / Tripod 75 mm | Connect your slider to a tripod setup
When you want to add a controlled slider move to a steady video setup, this Sachtler adaptor is made to link an Aktiv Slider with a 75 mm tripod arrangement. It’s a specialist connection piece rather than a complete tripod, so it makes most sense for a setup that already uses those named components. The supplier categorises it as a tripod and lists landscapes, long exposures, night and astro photography, and steady video as typical uses. For still photography, the benefit is in building a stable setup for scenes where the camera needs to stay still, such as a night sky or a long exposure. For video, it supports a setup intended to keep footage steady while using the slider. Its appeal is specific: it brings an Aktiv Slider and 75 mm tripod setup together, rather than serving as a general-purpose support.
Specialist Note
That 75 mm tripod fitting is the detail I’d focus on first: it gives this adaptor a defined role in your support setup, rather than making it a general tripod accessory. The other key part of the name is Aktiv Slider; this is for bringing that slider into a tripod-based arrangement. For a measured video move, use the slider with the tripod setup to keep the support steady as the camera travels. It can also suit a landscape workflow where you want to compose with the slider in place. My honest advice: this is a specific link in a rig, so it’s most useful when your setup is built around the named Aktiv Slider and 75 mm tripod connection.
