Sachtler SAC-SR415 Transparent Raincover For Medium-Size Video Cameras
Sachtler SAC-SR415 Transparent Raincover For Medium-Size Video Cameras | Protection for kit bags
A video camera carried loose in a larger bag can get scratched or knocked by the other equipment around it. The Sachtler SAC-SR415 is a protective case or pouch, titled as a transparent raincover for medium-size video cameras. Its most practical job is to give your camera its own layer of protection when you pack it alongside other kit. It suits video operators who want to keep a camera covered between setups or during transport, without carrying a separate camera bag. The raincover design also makes it relevant when you need a cover for the camera outdoors. Think of it as a straightforward way to help protect your camera from scratches and bumps in a larger bag, rather than as a replacement for a dedicated transport case.
Specialist Note
“Can I see my video camera through the SAC-SR415?” Yes—the transparent construction lets you keep sight of the camera while it’s covered, which is handy when positioning it at an outdoor setup. As a raincover, it’s suited to situations where you want to cover the camera when rain begins; pull it over before the camera is exposed. I’d consider it for medium-size video-camera work where visibility under the cover is useful. One sensible limit: it’s a cover, not a rigid impact shell, so I’d still use a protective bag around it for transport.
