Schneider CFG Rhodium FSND 0.6 4x5.65
Schneider CFG Rhodium FSND 0.6 4x5.65 | Two stops less light for controlled motion
For a slower shutter speed that lets moving water blur or passing movement soften, the Schneider CFG Rhodium FSND 0.6 4x5.65 is a neutral-density filter that reduces the light reaching the camera. Its 0.6 density corresponds to two stops, giving you a measured adjustment rather than a heavy reduction. That can help when you want more time for motion without changing your chosen aperture and ISO. It also gives you room to work with a wider aperture in bright conditions. The 4x5.65 format is suited to photographers and filmmakers working with filter holders designed for that size. This is a practical filter for shaping exposure deliberately, especially when a modest reduction is enough to make a visible difference to shutter speed. If you need a much longer exposure in strong daylight, this density may need to be part of a broader exposure plan.
Specialist Note
The 4x5.65 rectangular format makes this a substantial filter to plan into your setup; the key is having a holder made for that size, rather than treating it like a small screw-on filter. Its 0.6 density takes away two stops, which is a useful, predictable step: if your exposure is 1/125 sec, you can move to about 1/30 sec while keeping aperture and ISO unchanged. That’s handy for giving a stream a softer look or easing motion blur in a scene. I’d recommend it to someone who wants measured control, not an extreme exposure cut. For very long daylight exposures, two stops alone may not be enough.
