Sirui Vision Prime 1 Series 35mm T1.4 FullFrame Cine Lens (E Mount) | Deliberate focus for cinematic shots

Get a natural, moderately wide cinematic view, with room for a person and their surroundings in the frame. The Sirui Vision Prime 1 Series 35mm T1.4 is a full-frame standard prime for Sony E cameras, made for video and filmmaking. Its 35mm focal length gives you a flexible perspective for dialogue, small interiors and moving through a scene, while the approximately 63° angle of view keeps the composition open without making it feel ultra-wide. The maximum T1.4 aperture gives you room to work in dimmer locations and to create shallow depth of field when you want your subject to separate from the background. It’s a focused tool for filmmakers who want to build shots with intention, rather than a general-purpose stills zoom. If you value a considered composition and a cinematic look, this prime gives you a straightforward way to shape each frame.

Specialist Note

First-time cine-lens owners can underestimate how much they’ll rely on their own focus work; with this lens, manual focus is part of the process, so plan your focus point before a take rather than expecting autofocus to follow a subject. I’d use its widest aperture for close dialogue in a dim room, then stop down when you need more of the scene to stay sharp. On a Sony APS-C body, the 35mm framing is equivalent to roughly 52.5mm on full frame, giving you a slightly tighter view for a single-person interview. It suits filmmakers who want deliberate framing and focus. The trade-off is simple: moving subjects call for attentive focus changes.
